School and Playground turf
School and playground artificial grass is becoming more and more popular when it comes to a safe, durable and cost effective turf solution. Many of our schools use the products and solutions we offer not just to save on maintenance costs on their sports fields, but they also use them to brighten up those normally dull concrete areas on their property. Our solutions have proven to be both extremely durable and are able to stand large numbers of constant foot traffic. We are happy to share our gallery from previous projects that we have completed in schools and playgrounds in the Elk Grove area.
Is Playground Artificial turf Safe for Children?
Here's how we think about it; Natural grass is really not that natural if you consider all the chemicals and pesticides that are used to treat it. Many of these products are dangerous not only to kids, but to most living organisms. At Artificial Grass Elk Grove we use only the safest artificial solutions that are non-toxic and are completely child and animal safe. They also provide an extra advantage as their maintenance requirements require no dangerous chemicals whatsoever. Once you have decided to go the artificial route it is time to figure out the layout of the turf. Firstly, understand that normal playground or garden features should not damage newly installed grass, especially since we install it on a professionally done sub-base. Therefore, slides, swings, merry-go-rounds and all the rest should not damage new synthetic surfaces. We only recommend inspecting the surface every so often to make sure everything is as it should be and in case something did manage to damage the turf, it can be repaired before it poses any risk.
Real Grass Just Cant Cut It
Most of us spent many hours on the school playground as children. We all remember those bare spots that the head groundsman would cordon off on the playground. Unfortunately, those bald spots still exist in most schools and playgrounds because natural grass just can't keep up with with the high volumes of foot traffic and heavy playground apparatus such as swings and slides. This also requires many man hours of maintenance and lots of water that most schools simply cant afford.
It is no secret that many schools are underfunded. It is one of the biggest reasons that school trun to the simple yet effective synthetic turf solution. While there is a cost to the initial materials and installation labor, the savings over the long term have proven more than worth it. We love the positive feedback we get from institutions that we serviced especially when they tell us how they use the money that they are saving from the artificial grass to improve the children's education.
